Tis our last post on blogger!
So we made it a purposeful one, overdue, yet still purposeful.
Farewell, blogger you slow piece of crap!
Genre: Hypnotic, Female Lo-Fi, Garage, Punk
Year: 2009
Label: Zoo Music, Captured Tracks, Art Fag, Hozac
Who: Dee Dee, my lady love
Where: La La Land
Like: A Scandal in your Pleasantville garage, classic
Rating: 8.5/10
Compare to: Dead Luke, Ducktails, Crocodiles, Blank Dogs, Vivian Girls
I was going to write a novel about this audio goddess, but decided I rather keep my feelings to myself. For me, Dee Dee's handle on lo-fi is incomparable to Vivian Girls so screw everyone else. Her ability to relentlessly feed listeners with thick, reviving, quality compositions just blows me away. I look forward to her future releases and splits with some other favored bands this year. Shes a fuzzy vintage flavor that tends toward old Vasselines, see for yourself. Here is one of her newest singles.
Dum Dum Girls - It Only Takes One Night
Here is her first single off of her 12" release out on Captured Tracks, Yours Alone.
Dum Dum Girls - Catholicked
And my personal favorite:
Dum Dum Girls - Longhair
contact me for links to these splits/releases.
